South Loop

South Loop

The South Loop has grown from a fairly quiet, forgotten part of town into a destination for top-notch dining and upscale living. The South Loop encompasses Burnham Park and Printers Row, a small pocket whose main thoroughfare is Dearborn Street, roughly bounded by Congress Parkway on the north and Polk Street on the south. Once the center of Chicago's printing trade, today, Printers Row bustles with bookstores, restaurants and residential lofts that were converted from former warehouses. Many new high-rise condo buildings have stunning views of the lake and the Museum Campus, which links the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium and Adler Planetarium via winding paths.
