Calling all cupcake lovers!!  More (1 E Delaware Pl.; 312-951-0001) located in Chicago’s quaint Gold Coast neighborhood has happy hour every Friday from 5PM-7:30PM.  You may be thinking about your beverage of choice and how a cupcake or two wouldn’t quite compare.  I am here to tell you these tasty Chicago cupcakes trump any drink you could order in a bar.  Indulge in flavors like a Margarita, White Russian, Gin & Juice, Lemon Drop or Pomegranate Mojito.  Large versions of these specialty drink cupcakes sell for $5.25 but you can sample morsel size versions on the house.  I mean, honestly, what average bar is going to have free pomegranate mojito samples at happy hour?

That’s not all the samples they have.  Become a fan of more on facebook and when they post their weekly cupcake, tag yourself in the picture and stop in and pick it up.  Taste the different flavors, find your favorites and share with family and friends.

Patty Rothman, owner & self-proclaimed cupcake curator opened more in 2008 and has built quite a following.  Going through several thousand cupcakes a day, the most popular flavors are red velvet, salted caramel & the “more” cupcake.  While most days they are sold out of cupcakes, any leftovers are dropped off at local shelters, hospitals, police stations or good will.

If you’re like me and just can’t get enough, then follow The more mobile on twitter.  This food truck holds 1500 cupcakes with a total of 10 standard flavors and 2 rotating flavors to choose from.  The more mobile will tweet the location of where they will be and if they are near your work, treat yourself and/or a co-worker!

My love for more started when I noticed their location after showing a couple luxury apartments in the Gold Coast.  Every time thereafter when I was scheduled to be in that neighborhood for showings, it was inevitable that I would stop by and pick up a cupcake or two.  Not only am I amazed how great these cupcakes taste but they look magnificent as well.  I really appreciate the work that is put into these little treats.
